18-19 February 2014 Final International Workshop on Advanced Flow Diagnostics for Aeronautical Research – AFDAR –

The European ADFAR project (www.afdar.eu) has moved to conclusion marked by a two-days international workshop in Lille, hosted by the Laboratoire de Mecanique de Lille (http://lml.univ-lille1.fr) of EC-Lille (Prof. J-M Foucaut and Prof M. Stanislas).

The workshop was attended by AFDAR partners and external contributors and led to two days of intensive presentations and scientific discussion.

The AFDAR consortium closes now the works of this fruitful three-years period for further dissemination of the results obtained. The next upcoming event related to AFDAR activities is the 4th PIVchallenge workshop (http://www.pivchallenge.org/pivchallenge4.html) to be held before the Lisbon conference in July 2014.

At the end of the workshop, a brainstorming exercise was performed with all partners looking forward to the next directions for research and development in the area of flow diagnostics and of course PIV.
